It is reported in the Sunday Mail of today that some fuel retailers “were recently prosecuted for selling diesel adulterated with paraffin, casting doubts on the Zimbabwe Energy Regulatory Authority’s (“ZERA”) capacity to rein on the sector.”

ZERA is the arm of Government with a mandate “to monitor the quality of imported petroleum products.”

It is also reported that ZERA has now secured a “mobile laboratory” to be used to carry out quality tests on fuel.
