The mandatory blending level of unleaded petrol has been increased from the current level of 10% (E10) to 15% (E15) with immediate effect.
This increase is in terms of section 4 of the Petroleum (Mandatory Blending of Anhydrous Ethanol with Unleaded Petrol) (Amendment) Regulations, 2014 in a notice in the Government Gazette dated 9th May 2014.
It is anticipated that the price of unleaded petrol will reduce as a result of this measure.
